Year in Pictures 2007

27th May 2006:  Fred Butcher

The following was received from Colin McEwan:

"Fred Butcher passed away on Thursday 18th May.

Senior members will remember him as a member at South Marston.

More recently he provided the financial assistance that facilitated the
purchase of the tug at Sandhill Farm.

A farmer by profession, he was good company and a good man."

Sweeney Tod
Not awarded recently. It dates from when the club had a bar and could be awarded for good bar propping and story telling. Goes to Graeme Scott for having the most memorable events of 2003; seeing the tug engine stop and release him on climb out and another day landing out in the K13 during an impromptu cross-country.

Eric Brown Memorial Prize & Clubman Cup:
Mike Leach for all his efforts over the year on behalf of the club.

Subject: Fifty minutes soaring in K13 in November
Date: November 3 2003
Fifty minute thermal soaring flights in November in an ASK-13 are certainly a rarity, 1st November was one of them! What a year!

Subject: Club Acquires K6 Single Seat Glider.
Date: July 21 2003
The Club has acquired a Ka-6 glider from a couple of ex-member. It will effectively replace the Ka-8 glider that the club disposed of last year, but will offer better performance than the Ka-8.
